Information and how it is used
Performance of services
- The performance of services, such as giving counselling.
I also use your email address, your business address and/or name in order to send invoices, and for my bookkeeping. Your date of birth is also stated on the invoice if this is necessary for you to be able to recover the invoiced costs from your healthcare insurance.
Who do I share your personal data with?
Counselling sessions and reports
I maintain a dossier of my counselling sessions. I am the only person who has access to this dossier. I have a legal duty of secrecy (professional secrecy). The data in the client dossier is retained, as is required under the law and the treatment agreement, for a period of 15 years.
The possibility exists that this dossier may also be used for the following purposes:
- In order to inform other care providers, for example if the course of treatment has come to an end or when making a referral to another care provider. This only occurs with the express consent of the client.
- For use by someone standing in for me, during my absence.
- For anonymised use during peer review.
The systems that I use for storing my data fall under the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.
Protection of personal data
I have taken appropriate technical measures in order to protect personal data from loss or other forms of unlawful processing. These measures, which include encryption by means of an SSL-certificate and a fireproof cabinet, provide a level of security that is appropriate for the data that I process on behalf of In Between Counselling.
I want to make it as easy as possible for you to share the contents of this website via social media. This is possible by means of a number of social media buttons. You should read the privacy statements of the various social media channels if you wish to know how they deal with your privacy.
Period of retention
I do not retain your data any longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it is received.
If you unsubscribe for my newsletter I will remove your personal data from the system within 3 months.
I retain the data within the administrative system for at least 7 years, in order to comply with my legal obligations.
The above periods apply unless I am under some other legal obligation to retain the data and/or keep it available for a longer period of time.
You are entitled to withdraw your consent for the processing of your data at any time, after which I will no longer process your data. The withdrawal of this consent has no effect on the lawfulness of the data processing that occurred with your consent prior to this withdrawal.
You also have a right to inspect your personal data, and a right to rectify it. If you want to know what personal data I process which relates to you, then you can send me a written request for inspection. Should your data be incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant you can send me a written request to change it or add to it.
In addition you have a legal right to have your personal data deleted, a right to limit its processing, and a right to object to its processing. Moreover you have a right to have your data transferred, or to have your data made transferable. You can also submit a written request for this.
I will act on your request within 4 weeks. The term ‘written’ includes communication via email. You can email your request to me via firstname.lastname@example.org
I reserve the right to make amendments to this privacy statement. If I change anything I will report this on my website.
